There is discussion here: https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/pull/239#issuecomment-156339424 on the best way to remove SHA1 support from BIP70 (payment requests).
It'll probably end up as a 'little BIP' as BIPs aren't changed once released but we would want to track this and implement it accordingly.
