Add Codeberg (Forgejo) as distinct remote host

Not sure if this is possible, but Codeberg (docs) is a fork of Gitea.

To login, use Gitea as the host.

Why this should be listed as "Codeberg" remote host.

Can you try it with Gitea? Adding a Gitea remote and changing the url?

I just tried this before reading this comment but unfortunately it requires authentication.

Using https://codeberg.org:

Connection failed

Host requires authentication

Gittyup only supports basic authentication.

Not sure what authentication means in this context.

@redactedscribe i'm just testing Gittyup for the first time, and connecting to Codeberg worked out of the box for me (with version 1.2.2). It makes me wonder if it works inconsistently or if there's another problem possibly on your end?

I did not try with 1.2.2, but it definitely won't let me login using 1.3.0. If I really need to login I'll try 1.2.2.

Hi @redactedscribe I tried codeberg and for me it works fine.

• select gitea as remote client
• Select correct url. I tried with https://codeberg.org
• Enter username (not email!) and Access Token

@Murmele You are indeed correct! I was using both my email and my password... Thank you for your help!

Although it works, for those people who don't know that Codeberg is using a fork of Gitea, I still think it would be useful to include separate host named Codeberg. A note about possibly needing an access token token instead of your password would help too.

Great that it helps :). But yes might be a good idea to include it as dedicated remote.
