exif date should propogate to Observation date #4

When a photo is selected from the Gallery, the To reproduce:

Create Observation
Add Photos
Gallery
select a photo taken before today
Add
Next Expected result: Date should be date photo was taken Actual result: Date is current date

v 1.0.32, iOS 15.2.1, iphone Xr

In v32 (iOS), the app still does not grab the date from my photos. Could this be because of my photo file format? (On my iPhone, I selected Most Compatible, which causes all images to be saved in JPEG format.)

Also note that when the Observation is uploaded to the webserver, the EXIF header of the uploaded image is missing date/time and location information.
