Always attempts to connect using nfsv3 despite configuring ?version=4 in NFS URL #2146

Closed horazont closed 3 days ago

Bug report

Describe the bug

MPD always attempts to connect using NFSv3, even though ?version=4 is configured in the URL. This does not work if the NFS server does not listen on port 111 (rpcbind) and lets mpd run in a timeout.

Expected Behavior

MPD connects via NFSv4 only if ?version=4 is passed.

Actual Behavior

MPD attempts to connect to port 111, which isn't needed for NFSv4, and fails to start.

Additional info

I can see mpd trying to connect on port 111:

08:21:03.067521 b8:27:eb:49:93:e3 > ae:5a:0b:5f:ba:f4, ethertype IPv4 (0x0800), length 74: 172.31.23.2.58816 > 172.31.23.1.111: Flags [S], seq 1954610274, win 64240, options [mss 1460,sackOK,TS val 2977991248 ecr 0,nop,wscale 7], length 0

This seems to be the same issue as #2038 , which was closed because no logs were provided. Here you go then :).

Please let me know if I made a mistake with the logs, I'm happy to retry this with different settings.

You're using a MPD 0.24 feature in MPD 0.23

Oh my god, thanks for spotting that and sorry for wasting your time m(.
