[Suggestion] Locate VLC path #113

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

Hi. Can you make it possible to somehow locate the path to VLC portable,
instead of having to install it or put it in the the SE folder? The thing is, I
already have VLC portable on an external drive, so copying it to another
location is just a waste of space (and VLC is actually not all that small...).

Thanks

It's not really a big issue, but I've tried to make it possible via commit
r1495.
You can also download it here: http://www.nikse.dk/SubtitleEdit.zip

Unpack, run it, then exit. Edit Settings.xml and search for "VlcLocation" - try
to enter the path to vlc...

Hi,

I am trying the same thing, but can not get it to work.

Entry in Settings.xml

 <VlcLocation>I:\PortableApps\VLCPortable</VlcLocation>

I also tried a relative path with ..\..\VLCPortable and high commas.

Can you please help?

Thank you!

Hi hkemal,

Be sure that you're using VLC 32-bit...
