I suggest we defer this subject until and unless it again becomes "important". By that I mean such time when politicians are willing to risk political capital to address it. The current blasé leadership response in America, and around the world informs me that those who have the most accurate information on the subject are not significantly concerned.

Willing to defer discussion somewhat but don't agree with the reasoning--I think leaders have their hands tied by practical concerns. There are no guarantees that we will properly steward the earth, if anything there's a guarantee to the opposite--but I think it's our commission to attempt to do so.

Think about what you just wrote and then review what you have learned as a Churchill buff! If the crisis is serious and urgent, the leader must respond, even if it means falling on his sword.

Sure, but what % of the world's leaders are Churchillian leaders? Barack Obama? People in positions of leadership are not guaranteed to be fit for the job. Also, the crisis type of Global warming is much different than that Churchill faced. It is harder to think of any great examples of world leaders who dealt with something that had a 30-100 year timeframe.
