Looking into this problem again, it seems like the issue is that there seems to be no way right now to choose which sight a gun is tied to, so a gun can get stuck assigned to a sight (or vice versa) with no way to correct it. This seems to be why the problem is arising. If the ability for that is added, this issue would probably be resolved.
Its been a while since I played on stable, but I think there was a way to do this in the stable build.
Describe the bug When playing a tank which uses the Tiger II mantlet on a gun in the hull and a turret with a custom mantlet with sight on it, the sight ends up tied to the elevation and traverse of the hull gun, even when the sight is assigned to the turret gun.
Version 0.2 Alpha
To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior: Place hull gun using Tiger II mantlet on hull Make a turret with a gun and sight on the mantlet Go use the tank and try aiming the gun
Expected behavior The sight should aim with the turret gun since it's assigned to it instead of the hull gun
Screenshots
Additional context Here is the blueprint I discovered the bug on. If you play the tank, look therough the gunsight, then try traversing the turret, you will notice it is tied to the elevation and traverse angles of the hull gun, and wont traverse further than the hull gun's limits
