Autofresh? #60

I'm not sure if you talked about this, but is there a way for the alert number (in the nav) to update without me having to refresh my page? I have the setting at 5 but it's not updating the number unless i refresh the page.

Is the option for "MyAlerts page AJAX autorefresh" in terms of minutes instead of seconds? Or ...

The auto-refresh feature currently works only in the UserCP page (usercp.php?action=alerts), not globally. However, a global live update of MyAlerts' dropdown is planned for the next major version of MyAlerts.

A good way to do the global refresh is to refresh on expand. Then it only refreshes when the user needs it to. A setting would be useful too.

I'm sure that's already been suggested. @Shade-, can you point me to where it says that's planned please. :)

Sounds like a great addition. Guys give me a shout if I can help in any way. I am not loaded with free time either but I'd try to help if I could.

The building of the next major version will surely require more than one dev. I'm busy too but accepted to help euan where possible, you should have no problems entering in his plans soon! :)

Well you guys have helped me a lot so I have no problems helping. In fact, it would be my pleasure. I have only recently gotten through doing AJAX update for ASB and so I'd like to see how you guys plan on handling it. :smile:

Ok, so what will be in the next update? Because i do not have a problem with adding custom alerts (for achievements, profile comments, etc...) but alerts for moderation would be nice. But thanks for clearing up my confusing!

With this feature you can also add ajax delete all noification.

I understand, that you wanna release RC version with all features and then improve it, right?

I'll probably not add this for 2.0.0, but will likely do a 2.1.0 which adds a lot more AJAX stuff. I want to get a stable 2.0.0 release done, then fix all the bugs found before adding any more new features :smile:
