My 2014 Smart Fortwo which I just purchased started with a depleted battery with a total battery voltage of 30v. I was able to bring the overall voltage back up to 298 volts and I installed the pack back in the vehicle. The vehicle would not communicate with the battery pack so it won’t charge nor will it start. I took it to the dealer and they said there is problem in the pack where the can bus shut off and it will not turn back on to communicate with the battery. I have a printout of the stored codes and the codes that are current. I just need help I am trying to build this with the high school auto shop kids but without a safe battery the school won’t take it on the campus.

I used the guidance of a couple past users to charge my battery pack after opening it. I just don’t think it activated after it charged up.

I replaced the bms control unit and the voltage sensor and made sure all module cells were charged and then installed the battery pack back in and the dealer won’t work on the car because they said it has been modified. I have no other options there is no other service centers and I need to have the battery system cleared and reset any ideas
