Hello is it possible to add support for fds (famicom disk system) roms ?? Most of nes emulators supports them
Thanks
I am wondering the same thing ,in theory it should be possible, only question remains, how to patch those A & B side from those fds games in order to line them up an swap automatically between A & B side, and for emulating those fds wavetable syntheses soundchannel , the snes does has 3 soundchannels left 5 for the nes so the 6th channel can be used for that ,but the audio needs to be converted into BRR format on the fly, sure you can make beforehand predigitizef recordings of it and line them up to those corresponding games, but that will take aloooot of extra memory space,
So its not possible yet
There are no plans for FDS yet. Usually I'll change the mapper to red on the mapper tab of the compatibility sheet whenever I'm sure that it's going to be compatible. FDS is mapper 20 and I haven't studied it enough to know whether it's going to work.
You see... SuperDisc is Super Famicom's cancelled answer to the FDS. It does evererything it does but faster, on CD, and on an SNES. It even works. A dump of the BIOS exists along with a disassembly you can find here on Github (I am not going to tell you where it is though...)
I already have the bios years now 😆
