I think this is fine. The note in the dynamic-tuning notebook is needed, because the results there (and the data they're based on) wouldn't make much sense otherwise.

I also benchmarked this branch and main to be sure. The differences are minimal (~200pts on 369k).

200 pts is more or less the general variance of things. I don't see any obvious differences in the code, so I think this is fine as-is.
