Yes, would do it with ACF.
How about a gender neutral word like "Redaktionsleitung"? Else we would need to ask people for their gender in the profile, make it a required setting and should have a neutral word anyway to not be old fashioned.
"Redaktionelle Verantwortung für THEMA"?
I would also vote for selecting a person from a list.
I can pull picture, name, (if really needed) gender from the user profile
Is there any need for text content in this area?
I like "Redaktionelle Verantwortung für THEMA". You are completely right with the gender topic.
I don't see the need for text. But you could ask Tobi what he thinks? It was his idea / wish in the first place to show the category lead editor in the category archive.
Wrote Tobi :)
Überschrift: "Redaktionelle Verantwortung für THEMA" Name der Person Bild der Person Möglichkeit das User-Profile zu besuchen
Mini-Spezifikation so von Tobi abgenommen
Sounds good to me
the way to visit author profile will be a button? Or have you thought of something different?
yea, button or the name/image could be linked? How important is the profile of the person?
Right now the profiles are not super interesting, are they?
If quite interesting -> button if not so interesting -> link on name + image (so there is a way, but is not very promoted)
I guess I tend to just put a link on name + image
I first wanted to write, that I would prefer a button, as the profiles might not be quite interesting and useful at the moment - but should be in future!
But than I thought that on the other hand we want people to read the articles and to support NANU. Getting information about the authors is a secondary goal, if at all at this moment.
So yes, let us put the link on name and image.
And from this point it can evolve.
Technically this is solved in branch https://github.com/NANU-Wandel-Wege-entdecken/NANU-magazin-website/tree/feature/categoryLeadAuthor
It needs a layout + translation
Is there an idea for layout available?
No design or layout idea. Can think about it tomorrow.
What translation do you mean?
translation: I just write the code English and will translate it to German. The translation will be done by me - I just wrote it to have a full list of to dos
layout: My fallback would be the design of the author box - but that is too small for the title "Redaktionelle Verantwortung für THEMA"
I am thinking about putting it in line with the category description. Will there be a description in every category?

It should work with and without a description, as we will not have one for every category in the beginning - but hope to have one for every category later on.
We have not defined specifications for this task. Currently, descriptions are displayed on the category archive (see https://nanu-magazin.org/kategorie/selbstversorgung/ as an example) if the description is filled in the category editor: https://nanu-magazin.org/wp-admin/term.php?taxonomy=category&tag_ID=89&post_type=post
Of course, we could also use this field "Description" to enter an author's picture, etc. ---- but ideally we would solve this differently. For example via ACF?
For our version 1 I would like to have a new tile with some headline h2 like "Verantwortliche Redakteurin für die Redaktion XYZ" (would have to switch regarding the gender of the person) and a picture, her or his name and a link to her or his profile.
Best would be in the backend to be able to choose the person from a list of all editors and administrators - as a person responsible for one of the categories will always have the editor or administrator role. So it would be easy to do and straightforward.
What do you think?
