Prototype of CASEI using CMR as backend

Context

In an ideal world where CASEI is part of ESDS, it makes sense that CMR can be the place where metadata is both curated into and where the CASEI UI is connected to. This removes the need to maintain the current CASEI backend (and also MI).

Problem

We aren't sure if it's possible for CASEI to be function using CMR today.

• If we can, we should not invest in rewriting/refactoring CASEI (as per this issue)
• If we can't, then we may want to consider rewriting/refactoring CASEI (as per this issue) as ESDS will always need to maintain our backend.

Goal

To prototype whether it's possible to use CMR to run CASEI. This hands-on process may result in:

• Working code
• Documentation on what works, what doesn't

Ultimately, we just want to provide information to ESDS based on our own prototyping, and also input into this refactoring assessment issue https://github.com/NASA-IMPACT/admg-backend/issues/529
