• 2022-04-25 SNWG Monthly Meeting NASA Ocean Color R2022 Processing for OLCI NASA Ocean Color Data Users: The Ocean Biology Processing Group has initiated processing of the ocean color products from the OLCI instrument onboard the Sentinel-3A spacecraft. Processing of the full mission should be completed in the first week of May. This is the first NASA processing of S3A-OLCI and will be immediately followed by a processing of the S3B-OLCI sensor. Processing of the full mission data for both sensors should be completed by mid-May. Forward stream data from both sensors are now available. While it may take a while to ensure that our L1/2 browser properly handles these new L2 data, the products are accessible for download from our direct access page: S3A-OLCI: https://oceandata.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov/directaccess/S3AOLCI/ S3B-OLCI: https://oceandata.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov/directaccess/S3BOLCI/ Full details on the reprocessing changes and impact are made available here: https://oceancolor.gsfc.nasa.gov/reprocessing/r2022 The OLCI specific changes are detailed here: https://oceancolor.gsfc.nasa.gov/reprocessing/r2022/olci Validation results will be posted here as well, prior to or soon after the completion of the reprocessing.

  • 2022-03-28 SNWG Monthly Meeting MERIS processing is complete and S3A OLCI is about to follow, pending fixing a minor code issue. Once that gets resolved (this week), the test can be completed and verified. Hoping that S3A L2 / L3 processing can be kicked off early next week and completed by early/mid April.
