Anita LeRoy 4:50 PM This story is a great example of the value of co-design. It is not a negligible thing to get radar (or any) data into the NWS on a secure server, and then into the decision support systems (AWIPS primarily) that are utilized there. And I don't even know if they have out-of-the-box visualizations for x-band radar. So someone would have had to figure out the policies and procedures and possibly work with the NWS office to code up something for AWIPS visualization. I don't know what the pitfalls were in this case, but after 4 years, NWS still doesn't have the data, possibly for the reasons I stated above.
