There is some issue with the custom conda environment created when using pangeo-notebook as the base and using the pangeo-notebook package versions. The issue was that holoviews plots were not showing up in the jupyter notebook output cells. That is, there would be no visible error but not plots either. Plots are displayed as expected when installing the environment as detailed in this PR as standalone-enviroment.yml. @ranchodeluxe and I decided to implement a standalone environment instead for this tile-benchmarking work
