Service History - Incorrect Scenario for FERS Dep & Redep #69

Open dcieslicki opened 10 years ago

  1. Go to View Account > Service History
  2. Enter Service History for the FERS Dep & Redep scenario (use this scenario: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4MmZDLfhZYfUllXQVBqeUZBemM/edit?usp=sharing)
  3. Select Run Calculation button.
  4. Select Save Calculation button.
  5. Select the Show Calculation button
  6. ERROR: The principal on the deposit is incorrect. The system computes a deposit of $40.47 as the principal for the period covering 1-19-86 to 3-14-86 while the correct deposit amount is $41.21. The system breaks down the calculation into 2 periods. The calc for the first period, 1-19-86 ti 2-28086 is correct. The calculation on the 3-1-86 to 3-14-86 is incorrect. It should be: 9.79/hour translates to a deduction of $10.33. You need to convert the hourly rate into a yearly salary and then multiply by the time factor and deduction rate = 20431.73 x .038889 x .013 = $10.33

After running a calculation, and selecting the "Show Calculation" button, are you checking to make sure that the report doesn't contain the discrepancies mentioned above?

Please try entering a scenario for a brand new account vs. using the default account that has the saved scenarios. Need to make sure this works for established accounts, new accounts, or in the Create New Account wizard. If it does work, then we're all set! A good scenario to use is: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4MmZDLfhZYfSHpLYlZXQzA2MUk/edit?usp=sharing

(See my 7/20 16:30 comment on #70 -- looks like it's working)

I am not sure if you entered the scenario fresh in the Create New Account wizard. Are you saying you did that and you could not reproduce the error?

joelc commented 10 years ago

See attached - scenario run with create new account wizard:

Please confirm these screenshots look good!

Please attach all the screenshots, the initial billing statement, and the account detail separately

In the following share there are four images: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/a0z4cp2l6hwz594/AADPevx1-KfDwlgVevTVPq66a

1) before the scenario was saved

2) after it was saved

3) when the show calc button was hit

4) when show initial was hit

Note; it appears interest was updated to current date (7/23/2014) vs. date in scenario. However, based on the screenshots provided, the results of the FERS deposit calculation are verified.
