I have the same issue, dual Samsung monitors, Ubuntu i386 standard Dash version
with Nvidia dual monitor. Also, there is no way to access any other application
when Ardesia is running, not even by clicking the mouse icon on the toolbar.
Not sure if this is a dual monitor issue or not.

Also, if I move the tool bar onto the first monitor, using ALT CLICK and DRAG,
it just closes when I click the CLEAR icon. I ran it from a terminal to see if
it would give an error message, but it just says "Segmentation fault" in the
terminal. Just reporting this in case it is helpful to fixing the bug.

Yes I'm pretty sure that can be a bug on twin view because I have not test it
yet.
In order to try to have more info please run the tool in the debugger following
the instruction in "Bug Report" section on

I have not an external monitor and I have some doubt how
implement Ardesia in dual/twin view.
For sure that might be paintable the second screen also.
First of all I want ask one question, when you run Ardesia
on twin view are you able to draw and use Ardesia in the first monitor?
When you have two monitor what do you expenct?
Do you would have in the first screen the bar and in the second one
the transparent paintable layer?
Do you want all the screens paintable?
Do you want a bar and a paintable layer for each window?
Sincerely a rough and simple patch can be the transparent window sticked
with the function gtk_window_stick () in this way the window
will appear on all desktop and the annotation layer also and then
you will paint on second screen and will see the annotation on all monitors.
Please give me some feedback.

An implementation proposal describing the desired behaviour has not done. If
anyones will reply the issue will be tagged as invalid.

I have just installed Ardesia 1.0.1 from the Ubuntu software centre on Ubuntu
12.04 64bit. I too am running a dual monitor set up; but I am using the built
in Ubuntu driver, not the Nvidia driver and I am seeing the same issue.
When Ardesia is running it works as expected on one of the monitors, but on the
other monitor the pointer icon returns to my standard mouse pointer but control
is still unavailable.
A further bug I have noticed is that the background colour changer does not
work on my set up, where-as my wife's Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit install with only
single monitor it works fine.

Sorry; just read comment 7 again... Here is my thoughts on how it should run in
dual view...
I would expect to see Ardesia work on both monitors, but allowing me to draw on
each monitor individually.
If it is not possible to have Ardesia run on both screens, then I would like
the ability to choose which screen it is running on.

I use Ardesia in Windows and use dual monitors. In my setup, The two monitors
works extended.
Ardesia only works correctly on the main display AND if the main display is on
the right. Also, the two monitors must have same resolution.
