4 years ago @madsmiller I just created this thread here so we can keep track of the work that's done on the thin section uploads that you've been working on.
The next step is to enter the metadata for each of the thin sections. I was hoping that I'd be able to automate this, but I actually think it's better to go one-by-one so that you can QA the content as you're going through (just make sure IDs match up and are correct and that there aren't blatant typos). As you catch things, please update the original spreadsheet (but rename it with today's date) and then attach it to this ticket when you're done.
I filled one of them out as an example for you (XGRC000110). You basically just need to match up the metadata in the spreadsheet with the fields in resourcespace and enter them in.
A couple things to note:
- For the date collected, you'll need to enter "January 2" and then whatever year it is (unless it explicitly says the day and month). The system clock on the server is slightly behind so that's why we need to do Jan 2 instead of 1.
- For entering Lat/Lon, you need to do this on the resource view page itself. At the bottom of the page, there's a "Location data" section and you can enter lat/lon there. I think the map view itself isn't working right now so I need to talk to the server admin about that, but the coordinates can still be entered.
- I think we should change the name from the original ID to the text in the "sample" column
