MAM run for H2SO4 injections #24

Issue for the MAM runs that requires a different baseline case.

GHGs and ozone-depleting substances (ODSs) use the 2040 projection values from the SSP5-8.5 scenario (O’Neill et al., 2016)
monthly mean climatological sea surface temperatures (SSTs) and sea ice boundary conditions derived from an average of the years 1988-2007 of the CMIP5 PCMDI-AMIP-1.1.0 SST/Sea Ice dataset (Taylor et al., 2000) are annually repeated.

So, things I am unclear about:

can you use 1º emissions on the 2º or do we need to regrid them? How does it work?
Sadly, I didn't retain the CMIP5 SST, so need to reproduce them again: do I need to use a 2º version of the SST?

@dan-visioni I don't find it on casper or cheyenne.. maybe we can show me tomorrow as well. What I can see from your spinup, 10 years seems to be sufficient, but we can discuss as well tomorrow.

@dan-visioni could you run the timeseries processing when the runs are done? It would be best for longer term saving. Please let me know if you want me to do them.

@tilmes yes of course, thanks for the reminder! I started the postprocessing right now. Will go through all cases.

@tilmes all cases have been postprocessed (and all cases are finished, a few were missing still due to Cheyenne)!

See attached: SO₂ runs and H2OS4 runs are separated here, and the last plot is zonal mean latitudinal distribution. Just a sanity check.

@dan-visioni could you compare H2SO4 and SO2 in one plot, based on my email I am thinking that we are not emission the same amount of S in the 2 cases, and just wonder if you check if the total burden between the injections shows that?

@tilmes currently building a new case f21.FW2000climoMA.f19_f19_mg17.H2SO4_5Tg_region_fix.001 with the correct injection files, will run one year and let you know.
