@islasimpson the h0 files for this run still exists (they weren't scrubbed). Might be nice to add this run to your plots as well. I'm working on this too.
@PeterHjortLauritzen ne60pg3 seems to solve our moisture problem (dark red): https://webext.cgd.ucar.edu/FSCAM/FWscHIST/L32_REF/12062021/temp_prof.Q.frac.newruns.pdf
Will be curious to see the tape recorder for this run.
Here are the diags with this run added. It is indeed looking good. https://www.cgd.ucar.edu/staff/islas/watervapor/
Nice! Minor comment: this run is w/ ZM2 so you might want he label to say it on the tape recorder plot.
This result might suggest increasing the ZM timescale in ne30 to reduce ZM activity a little and perhaps make it more like ne60.
Just to provide a little support for what Julio is suggesting. Here is the PRECC and PRECL plots for some runs, incl the ne60 run:
so as goes the rule of thumb, increase horizontal resolution reduces the activity to the ZM scheme, and PRECL contributes more to the mean. So increasing the convective time-scale may result in similar behavior.
[edit - I'll also note that L58 (magenta) and L58+ne60+zm2 (grey) have similar breakdowns of PRECC/PRECL. And these two runs have the best looking q in the strat. so far ...]
