Purpose:

20th century with RRTMGP + CLUBB bugfix (2nd ensemble member after #554)


Description:

Same as #554 but starting from b.e23_alpha17f.BLT1850.ne30_t232.098 at year 125 instead of 75.

Hi Nan,

At project meeting, we decided to use the smmb files for this run the srf_emis_specifier before it hits the late 20th century.

I looked at the compset you provided based on release-cesm2.1.5 and it makes sense for me what to in release-cesm2.1.5. However, srf_emis_specifier in cesm2_3_alpha17f is different than in release-cesm2.1.5. In particular, the SOAG is replaced by SOAE in srf_emis_specifier and I am not sure how this translate to the smbb emissions.

Do you have an advice? If you don't, do you know who would?

Hi Cecile ~ I think this is a question for Simone, Louisa or maybe Rebecca Buchholz. I haven't used the updated srf_emis_specifier / SOAE yet.

All that is required is to replace the files emissions-cmip6_*_bb_surface in the SOAE assignments with smoothed biomass burning emissions for the specific VOCs (BENZENE, ISOP, IVOC, MTERP, SVOC, TOLUENE, XYLENES).
