I have been looking at the 28 day intensity synoptic maps. My first two observations are 1) do not use a gamma function when creating the gif synoptic maps. the gamma function is used to offset the radial brightness gradient with height, but the maps are all at one height. Gamma function is not needed or wanted. 2) The 28 day synoptic fits images are saturated in places but the level 1 fits images are not saturated. Action items:
Here is an example of a 1074 synoptic map at 1.08 solar radii that is saturated in the gif and fits but the Level 1 fits images are not saturated:
