besides the examples you give which work when you click on them, this program would become useful if you could enter a gene of interest, hit enter, and then have it do a query like one of the example buttons you have. #828

looks like we need a better way to redirect users to the Login

gglusman commented 2 months ago

I read it as wanting to enter the input and submitting by hitting enter. Maybe they didn't get that one has to click on the relevant entry from the resulting list?

dnsmith124 commented 2 months ago

It's unclear to me whether they didn't see the Login to run additional queries or select an example below. text or if the issue is what @gglusman is referring to.

Genomewide commented 2 months ago

I would have guessed it is like @dnsmith124 said, because if they started to enter a gene, then they would see the drop down to select a gene. They don't even have to press return to get it to run.

This is something we may be able to test with the general testing email out for A/B testing to see if people know what to do after seeing the results?

sheepishly 🙈, I've had this happen to me before too - when I get logged out, I forget (at first) to log back in and start wondering why I can't interact with the interface.

The UI team needs to discuss internally before assigned to a release.
