i believe Idelalisib -[causes decreased expression of]- HGF -[has increased activity or abundance caused by] -> KCNMA1
By decreasing the expression of HGF, the idea is that KCNMA1 would be decreased (or really not increased). This seems to be a fairly common path in MVP2. Whether is as strong of a path as say, [chemical] increases [protein] decreases [gene] I dont know but it does seem valid in the world of Translator.
It does seem like HGF is being affected here, not KCNMA1 (the queried gene)? @brettasmi @suihuang-ISB - could you take a look and see if this result is expected?
if this is on your radar to fix in this phase of Translator, can you also tag this ticket with which sprint you plan on working on it? (there are labels available in this repo).
otherwise, please tag with "next phase" to indicate that this will not be fixed before the next phase of translator.
thank you in advance! :)

In the
ui.test.transltr.io
system, just now, I ran a test query "What chemicals may decrease the activity of KCNMA1 (human)?".Here is a link to the results: https://ui.test.transltr.io/main/results?l=KCNMA1%20(Human)&i=NCBIGene:3778&t=2&r=0&q=1b1453b1-3234-4518-b638-b7022e0ecd3f
The first result result returned is Idelalisib, is scored 5 out of 5 and has the following explanatory pathway:
so, the second hop in the explanatory path seems to state that KCNMA1 upregulates HGF, which seems not directly relevant to the stated query. This result came from Improving Agent.
