Adjust to DataOne Education Module "Accessing Data in the Literature to be shorter. Use Arctic examples - 5 to 10 articles.

  1. Recent Warming Reverses Long-Term Arctic Cooling
  2. The Contribution of Bering Sea Water to the Arctic Ocean (1961)
  3. The Arctic oscillation signature in the wintertime geopotential height and temperature fields (1998) - 1982 citations
  4. Development of best practices for scientific research vessel operations in a changing Arctic: A case study for R/V Sikuliaq (2014) - 1 citation
  5. Are Mixed Economies Persistent or Transitional? Evidence Using Social Networks from Arctic Alaska (2016) - 11 citations

  7. Developing an arctic subsistence observation system (2011)

idea 1: Work in groups to discuss and search using laptops / phones if they have them.
idea 2: Have them find an article they like, and then make a 2 min plan for getting and re-using the data. 10 mins - Have a game where they roll dice and move across a board. Discuss how their plan differed from the gameplay
