This PR provides a partial solution to #11 and #14 to get file counts and sizes from the file system and make an accurate cumulative volume graph. There are still some todo's described in #11 and it needs to be tested against a full run with rt enabled. So, for now I am making this a draft PR for @justinkadi and @jeanetteclark to review and extend. Hope it is helpful to simplify our metrics generation.
