On second thought, I'll take this one step further.
It doesn't make sense for Organization Name to appear as a field under Basic Information at all, much less appear as a required field. People end up entering their institutional affiliation in that field, and this makes it look as though the institution itself is a separate co-creator of the data. Really, if the data owner has an institutional affiliation, it should only go in the (non-required) Organization Name field that appears separately in the Principal Data Set Owner section.
And for the record, documents submitted through the ESA registry already get this automatically:
Original Redmine Comment Author Name: Redmine Admin (Redmine Admin) Original Date: 2013-03-27T21:28:18Z
Original Bugzilla ID was 4843
Author Name: Jim Regetz (Jim Regetz) Original Redmine Issue: 4843, https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/4843 Original Date: 2010-02-24 Original Assignee: Shaun Walbridge
In the ESA registration form, the Organization Name field under Basic Information is prepopulated with the value 'station'. This shouldn't be in there.
