There has been lots of support for a section of the Ecological Society of America devoted to promoting open science. There has been lots of discussion about it on Twitter and in small groups, but never yet a meeting of larger than 10 people. Perhaps those codefest attendees who are also ecologists and ESA members would would like to get together to talk about what this section should be?

I'll keep my eye on this and pipe in from afar (not attending the codefest) and like Kara, I am a lapsed ESAer...
