Work on (add functionality, fix bugs, etc.) the Macroeco Python package (a bit about it here). Macroeco provides a comprehensive set of functions for analyzing empirical patterns in ecological data, predicting patterns using theory and models, and comparing empirical patterns to theory. The github repo can be found here
