Implement Analytics for Biography

For the new Biography content type, we will have several sections of analytics calls on the page. The three areas we will need analytics for are the biography section at the top of the page, the related resources links and the cards added at the bottom of the page. Below are the analytics requirements for each.

Biography Section

• If a user clicks on a link within the biography box at the top of the page, we would like to pass the following information:
  • Prop66 - BioCard_[DOC]_lastname-first_linkidentifier
  • For the DOC value, we'd ideally like the shortened name (like DCEG instead of Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genomics). Not sure how to get this exactly or how to build this in a scalable way, but let me know what you think.
  • The last name and first name values can just pull from what is entered in the content
  • The link identifier should be the name of the field in the system as opposed to the text of the value that was presented. For example, we want to know that users clicked on LinkedIn profiles more than Twitter accounts as opposed to knowing the actual values on the page.
  • Prop67 - Pagename

Related Resources

• For the related resources that can be listed at the bottom of the biography content pages, we should pass the same values that we pass on other related resources links throughout the site.
  • Prop50 - Text of link clicked
  • Prop66 - Section_RelatedResource:[Position in the list] ....I'm not sure how exactly section is defined on the other related resource clicks, but let's discuss how that is populating and what it should be on the bio pages.
  • Prop67 - Pagename

Cards on Biography Pages

• For these cards at the bottom of each biography page, we will follow the tracking structure put into place on other cards throughout the site.
• When a user clicks on a link within one of these cards, we should pass the following:
  • Prop57 - Title of the card
  • Prop58 - Link text - this should pass the text of the link that was clicked.
  • Prop 59 - This value passes Card type|Position for all other cards. For these cards we can pass the same values as we would pass for other inline cards inserted into pages.
  • Prop67/Prop60 - This should pass the page name of the URL the person is on when they click on the card.

This should be straightforward. However, as of right now, the analytics libraries are still being ported. I've put #1437 as a blocker because of this.
