Using data with higher spatial resolution #36

Open mle2718 opened 2 years ago

We are using VTR-DMIS. There are some good reasons to use it. There are some good reasons to explore higher resolution data (VMS). VTR-DMIS is a good place to start.

This is a place to track/think about using VMS.

  1. Gives us ports, and lat/lon of ports.
  2. Gives us very high spatial resolution
  3. Can help us figure out if the vtr-dmis model is good enough.

I might move this to a project one day.

@mchaji explored linking vms to vtr, but there was an issue with the way tripids were coded.

Di Jin did something as part of the scallop COCA project. We could ask him to share the code.

@mle2718 Thanks! Could you send me his email address, please (I'm sure it's somewhere deep in my inbox, but I couldn't find it). I'll send him an email.
