I would support this
Note that this functionality already exists within the Plant Survey
That's right. Plant survey has it already. I can add it to the general survey as well as the list one. Should we add this to the moth survey too?
I'm not aware of any demand for this to be used for moths, although there is a case for enabling people to blur their garden locations. In general I prefer to minimise the number of records marked as sensitive unless really needed, as the handling of sensitive records causes lots of problems further down the line. But we are doing some work to address that. Also worth noting that we will be implementing blurring of all species records for those species that are on the national lists of sensitive species, without the user having to choose this.
I guess we should make user sensitivity choice available for all the app surveys, but it would be good to enable some clear guidance that informs people of the balance between the risks of blurring a record vs the risks of not blurring it, and that encourages people to use the smallest blur (1 km) rather than jumping to 10 or 100 km, except in those rare cases where this is needed. (Not sure how the app does blurring, is it based on grid square size or does it use a larger radius around a point?)
Guidance also needs to make it clear that blurred records will be made available to verifiers and LERCs at full resolution.
Happy to provide suitable text later this year.

@kitenetter For the Plant survey it is a toggle, that sets the privacy precision to 2km. Should I add this toggle to all of the other surveys and some info text in the help pages? I could also add a popup with some info the first time someone toggles this On, would that help?
Have a way to mark a record as sensitive.
