Volume viewer: Fluorescence data #235

@maulakhan

If you don't have it yet, I think we should also add an example with fluorescence data.

Either in the activity or in the exercise.

maulakhan commented 2 years ago

where I can get this data from?

tischi commented 2 years ago

You'd have to find good data yourself; that's often the main work when creating the teaching material :) Maybe something that's in the repo already would work? you can ask any of the participants today if they have a good idea.

tischi commented 2 years ago

Anything starting with xyz would work: https://github.com/NEUBIAS/training-resources/tree/master/image_data Which one is the best, I don't know...

@maulakhan I liked your example with fluorescence where one did not see much because it was too dense with objects. maybe we could have two different fluorescent images:

  1. one with very dense structures
  2. one with very sparse structures

to make the point that only for (2) volume rendering works well.

tischi commented 2 years ago

We could make an exercise where on could tell the students to open several images and judge whether they are suited for volume rendering. The idea being that only sparse data is good for volume rendering.
