The upper left should be replaced by a binary image. Even though several implementations take label masks as input, the definition is on binary images (as I learned).

@manerotoni Are you working on this figure anyway? If not, I could try to fix it.

@tischi, why in the activity do we convert first to binary? Why not starting from binary directly? Also it does work with labels so there is no requirement for this. I would change the activity and use only binary images.
