During the May 23, 2022 fates software meeting we discussed https://github.com/NGEET/fates/issues/311 as a group. The consensus seemed to agree that @rosiealice suggestion of developing a table was likely the best path forward for this issue:

Maybe another solution is just to have a table on the wiki or elsewhere which can give this information broadly to the user community who aren't as familiar with all of the history of these parameter fields.

The "elsewhere" here was suggested to be a page in this fates-users-guide likely the notable differences page. @adrifoster noted that she had started a similar table for the PPE work that she has been doing and that we could use that as a jumping off point.

@adrifoster is the table you mentioned in the context of the above discussion available publicly? Could you point me to it or take a crack at addressing this issue?

I didn't get very far but here is my current version
