Important files regarding the Danish instance of the Specify database system for collections digitisation and management, plus placeholder for issue tracking. Guidelines, manuals and other kinds of documentations will be gathered on the wiki.
We decided that things within my dataset containing an NHMD could get Specify. I have added a spreadsheet for this in DarwinCore format. Some things are potentially already in there from Palle’s registration.
Also I mentioned that a lot of our registration was based on samples (containers), not sure we used this, but we used the 'Collector Number’ field in Specify. I have attached a preliminary protocol that I have generated for databasing our collecting events into Specify. It was also meant to feature direct import into the program EntomoLabels, that could help with generation of labels. Many of our entomological samples are uploaded like that into Specify, but no actual specimen are registered.
In the near future I would like to start getting more specimen in Specify, this will also be increasingly relevant, as I will start large scale barcoding of specimen from some of these samples. For this is would be great with some form of simple spreadsheet that can be used as import template.
