Meeting: Request: adding an Arter taxon id to the taxa of Phycology to support syncing data between GBIF and Arter. This id would be hidden internally but would be published to GBIF.
Lars:
I have thus created the around 150 new taxa of algae and relevant synonyms contained in the updated dataset (NHMD Phycology Herbarium https://www.gbif.org/dataset/7f4ed916-f762-11e1-a439-00145eb45e9a).
I have created a column named "taxonID" with the ID's from Taxonbasen (Arter.dk). Only taxa with the country code "DK" have been created. A few taxa with "DK" have not been created and thus not supplied with a taxonID because of different uncertainties.
It needs to wait until #253 will be resolved.
From Isabel:
When we sync static datasets from GBIF to Arter.dk, in many cases, Lars adds an extra column, taxonID to the dataset which contains the unique IDs used by the Arter system. This way, even if GBIF has another interpreted scientific name for the taxon, we still get a perfect match when syncing data.
Lars has also prepared this for the static Phycology dataset, based on the version you and I published last week, because Algae are soon to be “hot” on Arter because of a very nice book work and guide to Algae. (see below). We have not yet republished as we are waiting for the new IPT3.
BUT, as soon as we start publishing Phycology in GBIF directly from Specify, this Arter linkage will be lost - unless we would be willing to implement these IDs in Specify.
