Not recording below species level in digi app #88

Jesper MJ mentioned to Pip B in an email (19/03/2024) that the digitisers did not record below species (subspecies/forms/varieties/hybrids) in the digi app previously. This needs investigating so we can rectify this. How much are affected? Did the author spreadsheet fix this?

Matilde G mentioned that Christian Lange said not to record var. in digi app. This needs discussion and checking. As potential issues are that 1. it has not been widely communicated, 2. needs jens' approval, 3. it is preferred that digitisers do not interpret the front of the folders too much as this slows down digitisation (especially as more and more edge cases are found).

Chelsea discussed this in the Herbarium Catch-up Meeting on 4 April (https://github.com/NHMDenmark/Herbarium-Sheets-workstation/issues/78). AAU say they are fine with variety and subspecies being included. Jens says yes, he would like ranks included.

We should have always been recording determinations below species level, this has been a miscommunication. Raise in digitiser meeting on 02/10/2024 and check this is the case.

For NHMD, this issue was resolved with the "infraspecies sheet", the second edition of the author sheet (#91 ). We recorded everything we missed in the past there and are recording subspecies etc. in the DigiApp now. I don't know how this is currently being handled in Aarhus, though.
