Would be nice to understand what the bottlenecks on test_coverage_local are. Or if that running time is consistent

Also need to debug the test errors from par_narr and inject_calculate(nei) for full test coverage (https://github.com/NIEHS/beethoven/actions/runs/10998786356/job/30579591204).
