1 year ago The Biometrics domain has agreed to add biom:DNAPedigree back to type biom:DNASampleType (in addition to biom:Pedigree), and add a note to its definition.
Current definition: A description of a pedigree originating and held at a DNA laboratory
Proposed definition: A description of a pedigree originating and held at a DNA laboratory. This element is deprecated and biom:Pedigree should be used instead, but will remain in NIEM while it still exists in ANSI/NIST ITL.
In the biom:DNASampleType, the biom:DNAPedigree was replaced by the biom:Pedigree element. These are quite different in content. I think it would be prudent to either include both, or combine them so that all of the old content is still covered along with the new. Implementers can then select content for the subset as necessary.
