The GREI Community Engagement Subcommittee is responsible for developing a Community engagement marketing and task plan, in which we:
“Assess audiences, objectives, impact, partner organizations, and resourcing requirements to develop a community engagement and feedback gathering framework outlining community engagement planned activities as well as goals for years 2 through 4. This plan will be informed by use cases and community feedback gathered by the Use Cases subcommittee and include targets for outreach and engagement.” (From Section 3.6.1 of the Year 2 Coopetition Plan)
We have further committed that this plan would encompass:
“Community engagement activities targeting specific audiences - Collaborative community engagement activities may include training, outreach, and feedback gathering activities including webinars, workshops, conference participation, community partnerships, and resource and guide development. Targeted audiences may include: Academic institution librarians and research support staff, scientific research communities and societies, under resourced institutions with NIH funding, and NIH internal communities including intramural researchers, institutes, and program officers.” (From Section 3.6.2 of the Year 2 Coopetition Plan)
At the January 2023 NIH Data Science Town Hall, we committed that our community engagement plan would achieve the following impact for NIH:
“Increased awareness, measurable engagement, and discernible feedback from discrete NIH-supported communities on GREI and the use of generalist repositories in association with more widespread data sharing and reuse.”
