What are the general security considerations which every RSE should know about? Or specific ones that are used on specific research software areas?

I don't know if we have expertise to write the ultimate guide, but maybe we can point to other resources?

(Maybe this is something more for the Turing Way than for the Guide)

I don't see a Turing Way chapter or any content specifically on cybersecurity: https://book.the-turing-way.org/search.html?q=cyber#

Security is a keyword that pops up 51 times, but there doesn't seem to be one comprehensive chapter on it.
