App title rename option? #140

In some countries' laws, having "loli" in the title could be seen as a red flag. Which is ridiculous, and hardly your fault at all. Could there be an option to change the app's name/title in advanced options or the like, or is that something you'd suggest that users build from source for? This is honestly one of the best booru browsers I've seen for Android.

Mokura commented 2 years ago

That's about what I figured, I apologize for bothering you with it.

NANI-SORE commented 2 years ago

For now I'd reccomend to build from source for that, though it is possible to change icon and name of the app after installing it. But it won't be high on our list of priorities for now. I'll keep the issue open as a reminder for later

Mokura commented 2 years ago

Appreciated. It's not a huge deal for me, I just figured it'd be a neat option, since you can already change your app mascot.

NANI-SORE commented 2 years ago

Mascot is just a loaded asset, name and icon are harder to change and any possible variant should be already included in apk. Android doesn't allow custom names and icons from users

I was honestly just thinking "Booru Snatcher" and something cheeky like a hand poking out of a cardboard box. You could probably use a basic material icon until a desired icon is made. You'd definitely have to build your own app to rename the package, but at that point it's a bit overkill.

The simple solution - making both L capital. Then it'll become Lo(w)Li(ght)Snatcher

a stealth option would be good basically if enabled app reinstall with random name from dictionary and steals other app icons and has a password or pin or uses phone unlock password with a pin

Thats stupid if you care that much about an app being on your phone just dont use it lmao
