Creating R packages

Brief Description: Creating your own packages in R provides many benefits:

• Keeps you organized
• Reduces copy and pasting of functions from project to project
• Allows you to keep track of code and easily reuse it
• Helps you think in advance about re-usability of your code.
• Allows you to easily share your code (via platforms like GitHub). Important for publications
• Generally improve your workflow
• As a side benefit, creating packages "encourage" you to document all aspects of your code (as aspect often neglected).
