Updating g2c to v1.6.0 on WCOSS #170

We have discovered that MET fails to read grib2 files, and thanks to the help from the met_help folks at the DTC, we have traced that to the g2c library. At the DTC, they did not have any problems reading a very large grib2 file, while I did have problems on WCOSS. The DTC has g2c version 1.6.0, but we only have version 1.5.0 on WCOSS Dell.

Can we get an upgrade of g2c to version 1.6.0 on WCOSS Dell? This would help us be able to run METplus to verify large domains with fine resolution.

This is happening as part of the hpc-stack-1.1.0 release, which is imminent. You can follow the action here: https://github.com/NOAA-EMC/hpc-stack/projects/1

The new version of hpc-stack has g2c-1.6.2. It will be installed on WCOSS Dell as part of the release.

(This is related to https://github.com/NOAA-EMC/NCEPLIBS-g2c/issues/35).

This still has to be updated in the NCEPLIBS release...

Thank you! I wasn't sure if I put this in the right section, but I did hear that there was some updates based on what I saw that Mallory Row had asked for, I think in the hpc-stack section. Thanks for helping with this!
