@TingLei-NOAA Thanks for preparing static BEC! Do we want to use the 30 members MPAS case to testing static BEC? All files shoud be ready. Although @chunhuazhou is on vacation, @Junjun-NOAA can provide you with needed files.
@guoqing-noaa sure, we will also use the more realistic case Chunhua is preparing. Working on the smaller current test will give an example and allow us resolve most issues in such a setup .
An hybrid 3dVar run on the 15km mpas connus domain has been successfully set up while demonstrating reasonable results. It is (hera): /scratch2/NCEPDEV/fv3-cam/Ting.Lei/dr-mpas-bundle/rdas-mpas-tests/CONUS_15km_da_hybrid/run-3d-hybrid.sh. We will see if we need to tune the static standard deviation which came from the 5 ensemble members before we add this test to rdasapp 's rrfs tests. As @guoqing-noaa suggested, we could begin working on the case @Chunhuazhou is preparing. It will include creating a DA case from a forecast case and, I hope we could make this "creating" process more automatic (as mentioned in https://github.com/NOAA-EMC/RDASApp/issues/16) after we finish such a creation of a hybrid 3d run from this case. We could work together on this when Chunhua come back or proceed as planned by colleagues involved in this effort.

Creating a hybrid mpas-jedi run on top of the current Ens3Dvar mpas-jedi run. The bump tool run to generate the standard deviation bump files from 5 ensemble had been finished successfully.
