how to run the MPASJEDI 2024052700 case - CONUS12km with 30 ensembles #92

This ticket is to document how to run the MPASJEDI 2024052700 case added by PR #91

This case involves 142G data, so it is not sustainable for everyone to make multiple copies of the test data. For this reason, we use a different strategy to start an experiment.

This case is intended for a little more realistic case testing, not for the CTest purpose (at least at the moment). This case also introduces a preliminary step to centralize the RDAS fix data. But that will be addressed in a separate ticket/PR.

Background and ensemble MPAS restart files were generated by @Junjun-NOAA following @chunhuazhou's ticket #41 but using community physics and 55 vertical levels.

At this time, this case only comes with a single sounding observation. More observations and tests will be added soon. Feel free to contribute.

Run the MPAS 2024052700 case

  1. following this instruction to build RDASApp

  2. Under the RDASApp top directory:

    cd expr/mpasjedi_2024052700
./link_expr.sh

  3. Edit run_mpasjedi.sh to modify the slurm settings, such as account, qos, and partition.

  4. sbatch run_mpasjedi.sh
