The original NCL scripts to remap from ocean and ice tripole grid model to history files using pre-generated ESMF weights should be re-written in Fortran. Fortran is portable, fast and debuggable. The resulting files produced by Fortran will not be B4B with the NCL scripts, but should be only ~O10-8.
