Where does dimension folding occur - in TMB or C++? #26

Definitely in c++ for CPU cache performance reasons. Whether it's a part of the io is a separate matter. In the MAS json files, dimensions are not folded for readability. In r4MAS , dimensions are folded. So, I think this is more of an end-user preference.
